The Magic Isn’t In the Moment. It’s In You.
If you are among those that are still waiting for the magical moment…
The promotion. The sign. The morning you wake up and just feel different.
I hate to tell you but that moment likely isn’t coming. It is not because magic doesn’t exist. It is because you’ve been looking for it in the wrong place.
A magical life isn’t created by magical moments.
It’s created by becoming the kind of person who notices them. Chooses them. Creates them. Every single day.
That’s not a mindset shift. That’s an identity shift.
Here’s where most people get stuck.
They try to change their behavior without changing their belief about who they are. They set the goal, write the plan, download the habit tracker, and three weeks later they’re back where they started.
We don’t rise to the level of our goals. We fall to the level of our identity.
Your identity isn’t some abstract concept floating above your life. It’s the little story running quietly underneath every decision you make, the one you’ve repeated so many times it now sounds like truth instead of a sentence you chose. That’s the whole game of identity work: noticing which little story is steering, and rewriting it on purpose instead of by accident.
If you still think of yourself as someone who’s “not a morning person,” “bad with money,” or “just not that confident in rooms like that”… you will keep proving yourself right. Not because it’s true. Because it’s familiar. And your brain will always choose familiar over uncomfortable, even when uncomfortable is what you actually want.
This is the part nobody tells you about identity work.
It doesn’t start with a five-year vision board. It starts with a sentence.
“I am the kind of person who follows through.”
“I am someone who speaks up in rooms that matter.”
“I am someone magical things happen to… because I’m the one making them happen.”
Say it enough times, in enough moments, and your brain stops treating it as aspiration. It starts treating it as evidence. It is that evidence that will help change behavior, not willpower, not motivation, not one more Sunday reset.
So, this week, I built something for my subscribers.
It’s called The Power of I Am, a worksheet that walks you through rewriting the identity statements running quietly in the background of your life, and replacing them with the ones that actually get you where you’re going.
Because the people who build magical lives aren’t the ones who got lucky.
They’re the ones who decided, on an ordinary Thursday, to become someone new.
